To honour the volunteers, a recognition banquet is being organized.
They take time out of their summers to help run the Mennonite Heritage Village.  Every year hundreds of volunteers contribute time and energy, especially during major events like today's Fall on the Farm.  Executive Director Gary Martens tells us the volunteers help out in many ways and places.  The organization has over 400 volunteers they call on throughout the summer.  During major events, up to 100 people can be working at the museum at one time.  Volunteers will be recognized at an event being planned for September 28.
