The Manitoba Canola Growers Association is urging its members to sign a petition to Prime Minister Stephen Harper.  Executive Manager Bill Ross says it asks the federal government to support a canola based bio-diesel industry.  The goal is to push the feds into establishing and funding a national bio-diesel strategy by the end of 2006.  He stresses the strategy needs to include 4 key points.  A renewable fuels mandate specific to bio-diesel, policy incentives for Canadian production, mandated performance based quality parameters, and opportunities for growers to invest in production facilities.  You can find the petition online at www.mcgacanola.org.
