Steinbach Chamber of Commerce Annual General Meeting included the State of the City Address from Mayor Chris Goertzen.

Goertzen says Steinbach has seen tremendous growth over the last decade and doesn't see it stopping.

“The next number of years we're going to continue to see new families move to Steinbach, we're going to continue seeing immigration to the region and we're going to continue seeing people having children. And it's exciting because our growth isn't coming from any one spot it's coming from many spots both internally and externally. And we as a city are prepared for that and we want to make sure businesses are prepared and take advantage of those opportunities because we want to have a thriving, healthy business community and a thriving, health business community makes a thriving, healthy community.”

Goertzen notes many new businesses are starting up and it's great to see people taking a risk and seizing opportunities.  Goertzen adds these businesses are going to be those that employ new people coming to Steinbach and even residents that grew up in Steinbach who are looking for a job for the first time.

He says this is why it's important for Steinbach to be healthy as a city, so it is able to thrive.
