AM1250's Michelle Sawatzky with Olympic Silver medallist, rower Jeanine Hanson.

There were many in attendance when the ribbon was cut and the official sign unveiled at the brand new Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame. Jeanine Hanson is certainly a future Hall of Famer with her amazing rowing career and Olympic silver medal in hand, Desiree Scott, bronze medallist in soccer for Canada at the 2012 London Olympics will also one day grace the walls of the Hall --  both were in attendance for the exciting opening. It is a beautiful space and you can ALL see it this Saturday, October 27th from 10-4 pm -- make sure you stop by for the public Grand Opening!! The Hall of Fame is on the main floor of the Sport for Life Centre at 145 Pacific Avenue in Winnipeg. Michelle Sawatzky had the pleasure of chatting the director of the Hall of Fame Rick Brownlee and Sandy Riley, whose family donated $500,000 toward the completion of the new Hall, and you can hear their conversations in the AM1250 Podcasts. Congratulations to all who were a part of completing this amazing project!!
