A woman from Lorette has died as the result of a motor vehicle collision earlier this month. And, now police are looking for witnesses.

On March 8th at 1:25 pm, officers from Headingley/ Stonewall, as well as RCMP Central Traffic Services responded to a report of a multi-vehicle collision that occurred in the eastbound lane of Highway 1, approximately 12 kilometres east of Elie.

The investigation has determined that a vehicle, driven by a 61-year old woman from Lorette, was travelling east on Highway 1 when it was involved in a multi-vehicle collision due to the extremely poor driving conditions from a winter storm. The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition. On Thursday of this week, she died from her injuries.

RCMP are now requesting additional witnesses to come forward in relation to this collision, or anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area, between 1:15 and 1:35 pm. Those with information are asked to contact Headingley/ Stonewall RCMP at 204-888-0358.

RCMP continue to investigate.
