La Broquerie Reeve Lewis Weiss is concerned about water issues in low lying areas.

“We do have a lot of low-lying areas,” he says, recalling flooding in previous years on land between Marchand, Steinbach and the RM of Hanover.

He is hoping for a slow melt which would help avoid spring flooding.

cultural areas.

“It's hard for farmers to understand why there are so many rural residential areas,” Weiss admits.

He is hopeful that conditions this spring will be ideal for the ground to easily absorb the moisture from melting snow.
