The former reeve of La Broquerie says an olive branch of peace is needed in the council chambers of the RM of La Broquerie.
Ken Mantie says the Citizens Coalition needs to make peace with the old guard councillors and get along. He explains the Coalition is not in charge of this council and the only way they will accomplish their goals is to negotiate with each other.
Mantie notes it took him about 2 years into his own term as reeve to learn this same lesson. Coalition members have lost 2 key votes in recent weeks. One involved the hiring of a chief adminsitrative officer and the other was for deputy reeve.
Mantie's advice? Put differences aside, look at what is best for the municipality and come together as a unified council.
