A couple of public opinion polls this week are not getting much more than passing interest from our Member of Parliament. One shows the Conservatives with the same support as when they won a minority government and the other shows them down significantly and in a tie with the Liberals. Provencher M.P. and Justice Minister Vic Toews says polls are usually influenced by the type of questions that were asked. He feels a better gauge of public opinion will be upcoming by-elections in London and Montreal. Toews adds while these are not traditional Tory ridings, it'll be interesting to see if Conservative support goes up.
