The Winnipeg Jets have announced the schedule for their inaugural Training Camp prior to the 2011-12 National Hockey League season. Training Camp opens with medicals and physicals on Friday, September 16th, followed by the first formal practice sessions to be held at MTS Iceplex on Saturday, September 17th beginning at 9 a.m. The Jets will conduct training camp at MTS Centre and MTS Iceplex from Friday, September 16th to Saturday, October 1st. Training camp sessions held at MTS Centre will not be open to the public. However, the Saturday sessions held on the Winnipeg Free Press Rink at MTS Iceplex will be accessible to the public.

The Jets will play in seven exhibition games during Training Camp starting with a split squad match-up against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday, September 20th. The game at MTS Centre will begin at 7:30 p.m., while the contest in Columbus will begin at 6 p.m. The Jets will then embark on their first road trip from Friday, September 24th to Monday, September 26th. They will face the Nashville Predators and Carolina Hurricanes before heading to St. John's to take on the Ottawa Senators as part of Kraft Hockeyville 2011. The club will close-out their preseason back at MTS Centre when they take on the Hurricanes on September 28th at 7:30 p.m. and then the Predators on September 30th at 7:30 p.m.

The Winnipeg Jets rookies recorded two wins and one loss at the Young Stars Tournament in Penticton. 2011 number one draft pick Mark Scheifele and former Brandon Wheat Kings captain Shayne Wiebe did the goal scoring as Winnipeg blanked the Vancouver Canucks 2-0 on Thursday. Edward Pasquale and Chris Carrozzi shared the shutout as they combined to stop 18 shots.
