The Winnipeg Jets have released Janne Pesonen and assigned Paul Postma and Jason Gregoire to the St. John’s IceCaps of the American Hockey League.

Pesonen, 29, played in four pre-season games with the Jets. Last season, he played in 46 games with the Kazan Ak-Bars of the KHL where he accumulated 27 points (14g, 13a) and 28 penalty minutes. He has played in a career total seven NHL games, all with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Postma, 22, played in four preseason games with Winnipeg where he racked up five points (2g, 3a). Last season he appeared in his first-ever NHL game with the Atlanta Thrashers and played 69 games with the Chicago Wolves for 45 points (12g, 33a) and 20 penalty minutes.

Gregoire, 22, appeared in three preseason games with the Jets where he earned one assist and four penalty minutes. He spent the 2010-11 season with the University of North Dakota where he played in 35 games for 43 points (25g, 18a) and eight penalty minutes.
