One person was taken to hospital following a two vehicle crash in Steinbach early Wednesday afternoon.

It happened near the water tower, at the Main Street and McKenzie Avenue intersection.

According to Steinbach Fire Chief Kel Toews a concrete pumping truck struck a pickup truck that was pulling a trailer. He says it appears as though the concrete truck was eastbound when it T-boned a westbound pickup truck attempting to turn left onto McKenzie.

"The driver of the pickup truck was transported to Steinbach hospital," says Toews.

According to Steinbach RCMP, injuries were non-life threatening.

As for the driver of the concrete truck, he could be seen walking around the scene following the crash.

Both drivers were the lone occupants in their respective vehicles.

The intersection was closed while crews cleared the scene. However, Toews says traffic analysts would not be called in to investigate.

He suggests it could take until about 3 pm before the intersection reopens.

RCMP continue to investigate.
