The province is expected to announce the development of more winds farms
Interest in developing wind power in Manitoba remains strong.  Jim Crone, who handles the wind file for the province, says wind developers, turbine manufacturers, first nations, and rural communities have all submitted proposals to develop wind power.  In the coming weeks, the province is expected to announce the development of more wind farms.  Manitoba wants to develop up to 1,000 megawatts of wind energy, which could power about 250,000 homes.  Crone says one of the keys to a successful bid will be the economic and technical viability of the projects.
