A van was badly damaged in a two vehicle collision Thursday morning in Steinbach.

RCMP Corporal Kyle McFadyen says it occurred at the corner of Highway #12 and Park Road near Mcdonald's. "Shortly before 7 a.m., we were called to a two vehicle collision at the intersection. It appears a northbound travelling van collided with an eastbound travelling Hyundai Santa Fe."

He adds some people were transported to hospital but injuries appeared to be minor. Investigation continues. The scene was cleared wtihin an hour.

Corporal Mcfadyen says the Highway #12-Park Road intersection is prone to accidents. "This is a difficult intersection. At this time of day, traffic is primarily north and south but, as we see the day progress, this intersection gets much, much busier and has caused some problems in the past."
