Programs in the Dairy Industry should be viewed by all producers as a way to make better management decisions.
That from Art Pruim, a dairy producer near Saskatoon and speaker at this week's Manitoba Dairy Conference in Winnipeg.  He says there are multitude programs available which he sees as valuable business tools.  For instance with bull proofs, the more information obtained from producers the better the information coming back and taking part in breeding programs is worthwhile.  Pruim gets good cows and ultimately they last longer and produce more milk.  He adds producer participation in D.H.I. and classification of cattle is between 70% and 80%.
