Weather permitting, the resurfacing project south of Steinbach should wrap up by the end of this weekend.

Jeremy Harrison is Acting Director of Preservation and Support Services with Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure. He explains on July 6th, West-Can Seal Coating began the task of miscrosurfacing Highway 12 from just south of Steinbach down to Provincial Road 403. He notes this surface treatment will preserve the life of the highway.

"Microsurfacing is a treatment that addresses wheel rutting and improves the ride," he explains.

Harrison reminds motorists that traffic along stretches of Highway 12 are down to a single lane, however, there are flagpersons on site, as well as a pilot vehicle directing traffic.

He notes weather has been a bit of an issue during this project, but notes they remain on schedule.
