The Hanover Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire near the intersection of Highway 59 and Highway 311 Tuesday afternoon.

Fire Chief Paul Wiebe says the call came in shortly after 3 PM and crews responded immediately.

“It came in as a vehicle on fire, nobody inside, and it was not blocking traffic. Our crews responded, extinguished the fire, taped it up and it is now waiting for a tow truck to attend. Our crews were back in service about 45 minutes after.”

Wiebe says the vehicle itself was on the side of the road on Highway 311. He notes traffic was briefly limited to one lane while crews fought the fire.
