The owner of Smitty's in Steinbach says change is necessary to keep up with our growing city.
The restaurant is nearing the midway point of a complete makeover.  Robert Dyck says part of the change includes an expanded banquet facility where 120 people will be able to dine comfortably.  He says Steinbach lacks banquet rooms of this size.  Other changes include a new kitchen, washrooms, rug, chairs and table tops as well as a completely redesigned exterior.  Renovations began October 23rd and should be done by the end of February.  So far, the restaurant remains open but could close temporarily before everything is complete.
