The Winnipeg Goldeyes have moved one step closer to the American Baseball Association playoffs. The Goldeyes reduced their magic number to clinch the North Division pennant to three thanks to a 13-5 victory over the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. Wes Long, Brian Myrow, Justin Bass and Fehlandt Lentini homered for the Goldeyes. Myrow was a triple away from hitting for the cycle. Winnipeg owns a four-game lead over St. Paul in the race for first place in the North Division. The Saints outscored Sioux City 10-9 in 11 innings. The Goldeyes and RedHawks will play game two of their four-game series tonight at Shaw Park.
