“We’ve slowly been adding more health practitioners so that we can be more available to the community.”

Co-owners Krissi Peters and Ben Townsend have been thrilled to see Dynamic Chiropractic and Sports Therapy Center’s growth over the last few years.

“We’ve moved into a new building! It’s already been one year now that we’ve been here, and this is nearly triple the size of what we used to have.”

Currently staffed by three chiropractors, three athletic therapists, three massage therapists, and a pelvic floor physiotherapist, Chiropractor Ben Townsend is proud of their multi-talented crew.

“I would say the best thing that’s come from adding more health care professionals is that we can treat people collaboratively. Some injuries may require care from more than one profession, so they can see one or two or three of us right here in the building. And then as health professionals, we can discuss and work together to better understand what needs to be done to help each client.”

Krissi Peters adds that there is often a misconception regarding who would benefit from seeing an athletic therapist, but she’s more than willing to educate those interested.

“Many people think they need to be extremely active to see an athletic therapist. However, we treat the general public, high-level athletes, and everyone in between.”

Athletic therapists specialize in treating acute and chronic injuries to your muscles, bones, and joints.

“If you have a body, you are an athlete”, clarifies Peters.

The recent addition of a pelvic floor physiotherapist to the Dynamic team has rounded out their multidisciplinary team well.

“Pelvic floor physiotherapy is a fairly new service that we provide, but our pelvic floor therapist has been amazing. In just the last handful of weeks, we’ve already heard and seen amazing progress from her clients.”

As the name suggests, pelvic floor physiotherapy focuses on conditions that involve the pelvic floor.

“If people have pelvic or even low back issues that haven’t been fully resolved by chiro, athletic therapy, or massage therapy, pelvic floor therapy may be a valid treatment. It is often a treatment for pain or issues arising from pregnancy, trauma that happened in the area during birth, or chronic issues.”

Chronic issues include pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, urinary urgency, and incontinence.

Not just for pregnant women and new mothers, Krissi emphasizes that pelvic floor physiotherapy may be beneficial for all women looking to reduce pain and strengthen their bodies.

Beyond chiropractic care, athletic therapy, massage therapy, and physiotherapy, Dynamic also offers acupuncture, concussion management, custom orthotics, fitness classes for common injuries, and vestibular rehabilitation, which is an exercise-based program to improve balance and reduce vertigo and dizziness-related problems.

From mild discomfort to serious injury repercussions, Ben adds that clients will be pleased to learn that they will be taken care of ASAP.

“With so many more health professionals, we can usually get people in the same day, or within a couple days for sure. It’s been really nice to have more availability here now for clients, including Saturday appointments for those who can’t make it during the week.”

Direct billing to most insurance companies is available, as well as treatment for MPI and WCB injuries.
