Voters in Mitchell are going to the polls today.

A by-election is taking place in Ward 2 for the Rural Municipality of Hanover. The seat has been vacant since Christmas Day, when long time Councillor Bernie Stahn passed away.

The two candidates vying for the position are Brian Esau and Marvin Vogt.

Voters will be required to show ID. This can include one piece of government issued photo ID with voter’s residential civic address or two documents identifying the voter and their residence.
