A new program in Steinbach is opening doors for our junior and senior high students.
The Air Cadets first started in January and is getting ready for next training session which begins Tuesday night.
It began with around 40 youth and now there are 58.  Commanding Officer Patti Setlack is a strong believer in this program because it teaches the students leadership, discipline and responsibility.  On top of learning how to fly and how to survive in the wilderness they now want to round out the program by starting a pipe and drum band.  Setlack says they want to make sure they hit on all the interests of the kids and give them even more reason to stay with the Air Cadets.
