The Steinbach Pistons head coach has moved into 6th place all-time in Manitoba Junior Hockey League wins with 350.

"It means we've had some good teams here," Dyck said with a laugh after posting the milestone win vs the Winkler Flyers. "It's a collective effort. I've been very fortunate to have great people around me, that started right at the beginning with Rob Smith, then Joey (Moggach), and now Calvin (Bugyik). Graham (Pollock) has been here the whole time. We've had such a great group of guys. The kids that have come in have really bought into what we've been teaching and then the building, the fans can make it a hostile place for teams to play, so it's really been a collective effort."

Dyck says hitting win milestones is nice, but bluntly says "I just like winning hockey games". He continues, "I just love when our team wins and when our community is proud of our team. I've been doing this for a few years now so I guess they add up."

Being on a list with so many coaches he really respects, is something special for the Steinbach native. "There are some great coaches on that list and I have a lot of respect for the guys on it. Going back to Don McGilvery, who's now in the Western league, Don and I have become friends now. Spills (Blake Spiller) and Kenny Pearson are on that list, Dough Hedley, too. They have all done great things. I view them as veterans and I still see myself as a younger coach sometimes."

While it's his name on the list, it's not him alone as Dyck is quick to heap praise on the support he's gotten from family. "100% doesn't happen without them. Candace and the kids have always been so, so supportive. She comes to every home game and lots of road games. You can't do it without their support. You're gone a lot of evenings and it can be hard on them. They're always there to either watch the games or ask how they went. It's a collective effort at home, that's for sure."
