The Mayor of Niverville is happy his community is being lumped in with the Winnipeg Capital Region instead of Southern Health.

With higher COVID-19 numbers, it was announced in early October that Southern Health would have 50% capacity limits for retail. Following that announcement, Niverville Mayor Myron Dyck called for a meeting with Dr. Brent Roussin to express his opposition to Niverville being included in this.

"Deputy Minister Bruce Gray of Municipal Relations reached out to me and said he would try and assist in moderating such a meeting. It was last Tuesday morning that I was able to speak directly with Dr. Roussin, with Deputy Minister Gray and myself and we were able to have the conversation, I was able to present the argument if you will."

Dyck adds "I am very pleased, obviously, and I believe it is the right decision that has been made."
