Manitoba Agriculture will begin posting daily fusarium headblight risk maps some time next week.  Plant pathologist David Kaminski says this is when the maps would usually be created because winter wheat should be flowering.  This year, he notes, some fields are at that stage or have already finished.  With this being the case, Kaminski believes the winter wheat crop is out of the woods when it comes to fusarium headblight risk.  He notes attention now turns to the spring crop which is also developing rapidly, and will begin flowering soon.
