Traffic was disrupted Friday afternoon on Highway 12 near Blumenort.
Steinbach R.C.M.P. Corporal Bill Richards tells us around 5 cattle escaped from a trip to the slaughter house at Country Meat and Sausage. Staff and police worked with the Highways Department to corral the cattle and get them off the highway. Corporal Richards says the owner killed one animal because of the danger to motorists and another was cow was tranquilized. The scene was cleared before the afternoon rush hour.
