The Winnipeg Goldeyes 2011 season came to an end Monday afternoon at Midway Stadium. Winnipeg third baseman Louis Ott's throwing error allowed Richard Mercado to score the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning as St. Paul edged the Goldeyes 5-4 in the fifth and deciding game of their American Association semifinal. Ott's throw to Brian Myrow was in the dirt and skipped past the Winnipeg first baseman.

AM 1250 Sports Director Clayton Dreger asked Goldeyes general manager Andrew Collier to talk about the ball club's  2011 season and how it came to such a disappointing end.

The 2011 season proved to be a huge success for the Goldeyes who set a franchise record for wins in a season with 60. Rick Forney was named the American Association's Manager of the Year and second baseman Price Kendall was chosen the Rookie of the Year.
