Ammendments to the Agricultural Marketing Programs Act have been passed by the House of Commons.  Conservative MP David Anderson is the parliamentary secretary to the minister for the Canadian Wheat Board.  He says the ammendments will now move on to the Senate.  Anderson says the Tories were able to agree with the Liberals, N.D.P., and Bloc that the legislation was important and needed to move through the House quickly.
The ammendments would combine the spring and fall cash advance programs and expand coverage to include more crops and livestock.
It also increases the overall limit on advances from $250,000.00 to $400,000.00, and the amount interest-free from $50,000.00 to $100,000.00.
