With John Driedger announcing he will not seek re-election this fall, a councillor has thrown his hat into the ring. The RM of Hanover has its first candidate to take over as reeve for John Driedger.  Driedger has already announced he will not seek re-election this fall.  And now, ward one councillor Stan Toews has announced his candidacy.  Toews runs a mixed farm with his son a mile and a half west of New Bothwell.  He has served 11 years on council, the last 7 as deputy reeve.  Toews says if elected he plans to hold the line on taxes without cutting services in Hanover.
