Larry and Jessica Schroeder organized a fundraiser to support families with children currently in CancerCare and also to support funding research to cure cancer.
The fundraiser took place on Saturday all day at the soccer park in Steinbach. They had a soccer tournament, bouncy houses, and a canteen with pulled pork sandwiches for lunch. There was also a raffle where the most sought-after items of the day were the smoker and the generator.
For the final soccer match of the day, they had Marek Hiebert, a 7-year-old cancer patient, kick the ball to start off the game.
Even though the fundraiser is over, you can still donate to fund cancer research at any time by donating online.
