The Winnipeg Jets set a franchise record on New Year's Eve. The Jets recorded their 10th win in December beating the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-2 setting the new mark for victories in a month.
Blake Wheeler and Zach Bogosian scored power play goals for Winnipeg. Jets captain Andrew Ladd added his 12th of the season. Winnipeg goaltender Ondrej Pavelec stopped 22 shots including all 12 he faced in the third period. Clarke MacArthur and Phil Kessel replied for the Maple Leafs. Morweena, Manitoba native James Reimer stopped 32 shots in net for Toronto.
The Jets (19-14-5) are tied with New Jersey for sixth place in the National Hockey League's Eastern Conference. Winnipeg will begin a four-game road trip which starts on Wednesday, January 4th against the Montreal Canadiens.
