Extreme Marathoner Albert Martens.

Athletes in Action has a busy month ahead of them and they would love for all of us to be a part of as much of it as we can. Of course, Athletes in Action is a Christian organization that works with athletes of all kinds -- and they use the avenue of sport to share the message of Jesus Christ. Steinbach's Albert Martens is an extreme marathoner and he works for Athletes in Action. He stopped by the AM1250 studio this morning and there's plenty going on. First, they're hosting a "Bomber Night" at the Evangelical Mennonite Church in Steinbach on October 23rd from 7-8:30 pm. Come and meet Blue bomber Defensive Tackle Bryant Turner #92 together with the Blue Bomber chaplain Lorne Korol. Bring your jerseys and your footballs to be autographed. Bryant will be sharing his faith story.

Then, on November 20th, Albert and 15 of his friends will be running a marathon in Churchill. Yes, it's cold there. Yes, there are polar bears there -- and that is why they've chosen it as their next marathon location. Even more amazing, 2 days later, on November 22nd -- they will be sharing their experience at a Dessert Night Fundraiser at CanadInn Pembina in Winnipeg. Featured keynote speaker will be Eric Alexander who has summited the highest mountains on all 6 continents with a handicapped climber at his side.

If you'd like any more information or tickets for the dessert fundraiser you can go to Albert's website, www.albertmartens.com, buy a ticket and you're in!!
