Full Obituary for Anne Neudorf

Anne Neudorf passed away October 1, 2022 at the Grace Hospice, fulfilling her wish for God to take her home. Anne was born on June 23,1928 in Lowe Farm, MB to Jacob and Helena Friesen. She is survived by her special friend Elmer Loewen and her four children, Geraldine (Ron), Mark, Monica (Jeff), and Carla (Shawn).
Anne was blessed with 10 grandchildren Patrick (Pam), Pam (Wes), Jared (Tara), Cole, Kelsey, Andrea (Alex), Kevin (Chloe), Lindsay (Tucker), Taylor (Mikhail), and Avery. In addition, Anne also touched the lives of her 7 Great Grandchildren Quinn, Colby, Riley, Sienna, Madison, Hayden, and Ellie. Anne was predeceased be her loving husband of nearly 50 years Abe and their infant son Wayne.
As a result of her father’s death, Anne at age 13 was forced to leave school and work to help support her family. At 14 she took a train into Winnipeg in search of employment. At 16 Anne was hired by the Timothy Eaton Company which would alter the course of her life. A seasonal Eaton employee, Abram Neudorf spotted Anne at a dance in Winnipeg and promptly informed his friend,” I’m going to marry that girl”.
On June 17,1949 Anne and Abe were married at the Mennonite Church in Winnipeg. The next day Anne and Abe moved to Westbourne MB to tend to the family farm. Anne maintains she spend the first day of her married life planting potatoes. Life on the farm did not include running water, indoor facilities, or a telephone. Not one to shy away from a challenge, Anne learned to be a farmer, a wife, a cook, and a mother.
Anne’s caring nature resulted in countless hours of community service. Whether it was Volunteering at the MCC, assisting with Meals on Wheels, working with the Ladies Aid, or driving cancer patients into Winnipeg, Anne was available. Hosting and attending Bible study was a staple in both Anne and Abe’s life. Anne also held the distinction of curling into her 80’s and golfing at 90.
Anne’s greatest joy in life came from being around her family. As her health deteriorated, she was given a final opportunity to be surrounded by the family she loved. In July of this year her Granddaughter Taylor was married. Her attendance was questionable due to her failing health. The temperature and humidity were unbearable. It was no place for a person north of 90. Looking amazing and literally surrounded by her Grandchildren for the entire evening, we had to drag her out.
Funeral Service for Anne will be held on Thursday October 6, 2022 at 11am at the Bagot Chapel, Bagot Manitoba with viewing being held prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Cancer Care in remembrance of Wayne Neudorf. Anne’s wishes in her memory; she wants people to pay it forward. Take time to share with fellow people, visit with others, and comfort the lonely.
