The Steinbach Airport will be buzzing this weekend as it hosts the 2nd Annual Central Canada Aerobatic Championships.
Friday is a full day of practicing for the top Canadian aerobatic pilots and first-time competitors.
The contest begins Saturday morning at 8am with Sunday scheduled as the rain date.
The public is invited to take in the event. Admission is free so bring your lawn chair, sunscreen, water and a camera.
There will be a couple of food trucks at the clubhouse parking lot, or you can bring your own snacks. Just do not bring any lasers or drones.
The main parking will be along Golfair Road, on the north side. Volunteers will help guide spectators through the parking space. If additional parking space is required, the Mennonite Heritage Village will provide their North Grass Parking Lot free of charge. This means spectators will need to walk around the Village, along Highway 12. Parking is first come first served.
Golfair Road is the only entrance to the big event. The Airport’s Clubhouse and Deck will be the main area for spectators. Seating is very limited so make sure you bring some lawn chairs.
Pilots, Volunteers, and local Airplane Owners will be given a special pass individually.
Spectators are expected to stay out of the apron/active area throughout the entire contest.
