The Kleefeld/New Bothwell First Responders are facing an uphill battle.
Their numbers have dwindled down to 5 and they need about 7 more to run the program effectively.  Spokesperson Esther Hildebrand says they have some interested people but can't bring them on board because the province is no longer offering the training.  They have been asking Manitoba Health and the Regional Health Authority to help them get the training program up and running again however nothing has been happening.  So they asked Steinbach MLA Kelvin Goertzen to help them out.  He has contacted the Minister of Health and is pushing for a quick solution.  Goertzen says it is critical they get more people on board quickly so the remaining first responders don't burn out.
