Conservative Agriculture Critic David Anderson is raising concerns about what’s happening in the ag portfolio.

He says Federal Agriculture Minister Lawrence MacAulay is doing little for agriculture.

Anderson notes Health Canada has moved on several agriculture issues and Minister MacAulay is nowhere to be found.

"Issues such as the proposed ban on the neonicotinoid soil and seed treatments, and proposed changes to animal transport have been dumped out on the ag community without proper consultation or science and MacAulay is missing in action," said Anderson.

He says Liberal political spin and special interest groups are taking precedent over any kind of scientific decisions, which is setting terrible precedents for the future.
