Crews are busy in Steinbach schools getting ready for fall.

Ongoing construction at Stonybrook Middle School for the new track.Five Hanover School Division schools are seeing renovations completed this summer including Southwood School, Woodlawn School, Elmdale School, Stonybrook Middle School and Steinbach Regional Secondary School. Director of Facilities Bob Proulx says renovations include floor renovations, window replacement, new fencing, locker replacements, office renovations and the track at Stonybrook for the 2016 Power Smart Manitoba Summer Games.

Proulx adds, for the most part, they're on schedule.

"Right now we're ahead in some projects and in some projects we're a week behind but we're hoping that we'll be ready for school start up," notes Proulx. "Again, hopefully the new construction projects that will be started in September, hopefully before school start up, will be ongoing throughout the school year."

Proulx says the floor renovations is a division wide project estimated at $100,000. He adds the track at Stonybrook Middle School is being excavated, then in August it will have sod placed and have asphalt poured.
