It's all in the family.

(Photo credit: Lisa Staib)13-year old Hannah Staib from New Bothwell says her mom was in track and field in university, her sister has competed, and now Staib will be competing in the 2016 Power Smart Manitoba Summer Games next week as a track and field athlete.

"It was a family thing and I just found it really interesting to get into and I found it really fun."

Staib says she was excited to have qualified and is looking forward to competing and meeting other athletes from all over Manitoba. She notes she is hoping to break her personal best at the games and win a medal.

She adds she enjoys track and field because it keeps her busy, and she likes to jump, specifically triple jump and long jump, and compete against others.
