Defending champion Devon Schade of Elmhurst is in a tie for 7th place after day one of the Nott Autocorp Provincial Men's Amateur Golf Championship.

The Beausejour native was one-over par 73 Monday at the Minnewasta golf course in Morden and trails Allan McDonald of Breezy Bend by three shots.

Tyson Ehnes of Lorette was 74 and Colwyn Abgrall of Niverville opened with a 75.

Four members of Quarry Oaks are in the field.

Jamie Roy was 77; Stefan Lavallee and Scott Schalla were 79 and Andrew Gaudry was 80.

Four members of the Steinbach Fly-In Golf Club are also in Morden.

Adam Guenther and Matthew Curtis were 83; Al Kehler was 86 and Eric Sung was 88.

The low 60 and ties after today's second round will make the cut for the final 36 holes on Wednesday and Thursday.
