It's another very hectic summer for custodial and maintenance staff in the Hanover School Division. Bob Proulx is the Director of Facilities. He says about 150 employees are busy cleaning and touching up over 1.1 million square feet of floor space. Furthermore, Proulx says a four-classroom addition at South Oaks School in Grunthal and a two-classroom addition at Blumenort School have been completed.

"We just got permission now to move into our two new additions that were completed. We are moving furniture as we speak. We are also working very hard on a very aggressive schedule for the Niverville Elementary School expansion. We are still hoping to be moved in there by the end of September."

Niverville Elementary is getting five new classrooms.

Elsewhere, Proulx says the Niverville Collegiate gym is getting a new roof and air conditioning, Green Valley School in Grunthal and Elmdale School in Steinbach are getting some new windows, Kleefeld School is getting part of its roof replaced and an expanded parking lot and Woodlawn School in Steinbach is getting a new gym floor. And he adds they have just received approval for a new portable classroom at Niverville Collegiate. The architects are now working on the drawings.
