Sarah Martens says this is an idea that has been in the back of their minds for some time. Martens, her husband and three children will head to San Carlos, Mexico and if all goes well, may

The orphanage was founded in 2014 as a means to save and protect vulnerable children who are victims of drugs, violence and abuse. Martens says right now there are 14 children but they are having to turn away kids because of a lack of space.

"Right now the biggest push is we're trying to raise money so that we can build a new building," she says. "Right now they are squished in there, their babies. There's cribs in every inch of that room."

In addition to funding a new building, Martens says they could also use money right now to purchase bicycles for the children. The goal is to have one bike per child.

"They are really wanting to do that for Christmas for their kids," explains Martens. "Because she said that anything with wheels they wear them out within the year because they are using them constantly."
