Many calls requesting a tow truck have come in since the storm hit the Southeast late Monday evening causing flooded streets.

Marty Rempel from Steinbach Towing says the first calls they received were from east of Steinbach around 9 pm. “This is one of the worst storms this summer. We got a lot of calls last night, somewhere around 25 and about 7 more calls this morning with complaints of flooded cars.”

Rempel says three of his trucks were kept busy all evening Monday, mainly due to flooded cars on Brandt Street and McKenzie Avenue, mostly between Main Street to McKenzie on Brandt Street.

Quinn De Lury had his car towed Tuesday morning due to flooding. He was on his way home around 11 pm Monday, and after making through the knee high flooding on Brandt Street he was surprised when his car sputtered to a stop on McKenzie Avenue near his home. “I thought since my car powered through the flooding on Brandt Street I could make it down McKenzie. But as I was coming down McKenzie, a truck passed me and I lost speed and my vehicle sputtered out.”
