Spring break for students is just over a week away, and the Jake Epp Library is busy getting ready.

Program Coordinator Madi Friesen says they have several events planned including a Wii games day, a Hunger Games movie marathon and a craft day.

Friesen says, “We want to get kids into the library, so this year we're doing something a little different, we're having a teen event. Normally we focus on on elementary and middle school aged kids, this year we're trying to get more teenagers into the library.” Friesen notes reading is important at all ages, even as a teenager.

On Tuesday the 29th of March, the library will hold a Wii games day from 10-3 where kids can sign up for a time slot of about 30 minutes. Friesen says they have games like super Mario Galaxy and other E-rated games, and groups can take part in Just Dance.

On Wednesday the 30th, there is a young adult or teen event for ages 13 and up. A Hunger Games marathon will run from 10-6. Friesen adds, "you can bring $3 for pizza, or you can bring your own lunch, and there's also going to be popcorn."

On Thursday the 31st there is a kids craft day from 10:30-11:30.  "For the 5-7 year old age group we'll paint rocks like lady bugs and make seed bombs to plant flowers. From 1:30-2:30 the 8-12 year olds will make burlap flower hair clips.”
