Car fire on Highway 52, no apparent injuries

No injuries were reported following a car fire on Saturday afternoon on Highway 52 near Carriere Road.

Steinbach RCMP contacted La Broquerie Fire Department at around 3:32 pm, to help extinguish the fire and assist with detouring traffic.

Captain Miguel Dubé says they arrived on scene and RCMP had already blocked off that section of highway.

"We proceeded to carefully extinguish the fire," says Dubé. "Along with RCMP, we redirected traffic at Kokomo and Carriere during the RCMP's investigation."

The fire department was cleared to leave the scene before the investigation was completed.

Dubé says there did not appear to be any injuries, and the fire crews cleared the scene within two hours.
