Grandparents went back to school Friday.

Steinbach Christian School was host to the sixth annual Grandparents Day where each Grade 7 student brought their grandparents along to experience a day in the life of their grandchild.

Bill and Rose Dyck came with their granddaughter Annikah Reimer.

"Our granddaughter invited us to come," says Rose. "We were very excited that she chose us, she has three sets of grandparents. We're very excited to see what the school is doing for our kids. I also graduated from this school, so I'm coming back, this is like coming back home again. It's really neat to see how things have progressed and just great to see how she's growing."

She notes the biggest change is going from being a Grade 10 to 12 school to Kindergarten to Grade 12 school. Bill adds they wanted to show their love and support for their granddaughter by coming to school with her.

Ray and Margaret Wiebe also came with their grandson Rogan Unger.

"This is his (Unger's) third year here (at SCS) and we just see the awesome work the school is doing with these kids," says Margaret. "The spiritual influence and just all around good experience (at SCS). We've seen how he's grown and matured through all this."

She notes she appreciates the teaching the school provides for the students. Ray adds he also appreciates the Bible emphasis as well as the smaller class sizes, giving more attention to each student.
