There are about 90 staff changes happening in the Hanover School Division come fall.

Superintendent Randy Dueck says those changes include teachers who are becoming permanent in the same position, term positions to cover maternity or sick leave, retirements and transfers. Dueck adds movement and transition is always good within a school division.

"We've had a number and we'll continue to have a number of principals who are close and into that retirement age and range. As they move out of the profession, obviously, we'll have people moving into the administrative profession in education."

He says it's good to have new people with new ideas or those who are coming into the profession and getting their feet wet with the opportunity to grow as an administrator.

Dueck notes there have also been changes at the administrative level including Andrew Mead, from St. James Assiniboine School Division, who is replacing Grant Plett as principal at Mitchell Middle School. Dale Martens has been transferred to replace Michael Thiessen at South Oaks due to a move to Alberta, and John Terrick is taking over Marten's position as vice-principal at Mitchell Elementary School.

Meanwhile, Wayne Davies has been hired to replace the leave of Kim Poirier, who took a position with the Department of Education at the end of 2015, and Rachel Thiessen, formerly vice-principal at Green Valley School, will be moving to SRSS and is being replaced by Marlin Adrian.
