Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada has released a long awaited report on where research within the department is headed.  The conclusions of the document were based on consultations held last fall with stakeholders from across the country.  Assistant Deputy Minister of Research Dr. Marc Fortine says 7 goals and objectives were identified.  He adds they all boil down to one theme, creating more wealth and value for all Canadians.
Fortine notes whether that's through better food for consumers, or more value added opportunities for processors and producers.  Some of the specific goals include focusing on national priorities, building partnerships, and accelerating commercialization of science knowledge.
