School bus involved in collision near Friedensfeld

The Hanover School Division confirms that a school bus was involved in the collision today near Friedensfeld.

Students were being transported home from Clearspring Middle School, Southwood School, Steinbach Regional Secondary School, and Woodlawn School.

Emergency Medical Services responded to the collision at the intersection of highways 303 and 12.

The division reports that "In an abundance of caution, all students were triaged. No serious injuries were reported of the bus occupants."

Hanover Fire Chief Paul Wiebe says they were dispatched at 4:18pm on Monday to a crash that involved a school bus and two vehicles.

"One person from the vehicles was transported by ground ambulance," he reports.

Wiebe notes that as of 6:04pm (Monday), RCMP are still on scene investigating the crash.

"Currently, one lane is open, and traffic is backed up," he says.
