The Steinbach Regional Secondary School's football program will be well represented at the second annual Blue & Gold Showcase at the East Side Eagles Football Club in Winnipeg on Sunday, May 5th.

The game will feature four all-star teams of high school football players from across the province.

Running back Braeden Sinclair, offensive linemen Ryder Wallace & Eric Barnard, defensive lineman Seth Friesen and defensive back Juddah Wohlgemuth of the SRSS will play on the JV Gold team while quarterback Toby Plett, running back Josiah Griener, offensive lineman Jack Leppleman, defensive linemen DJ Houle & Kieran Robertshaw and defensive back Nigel Reader of the Sabres will play on the Varsity Gold team.

Over 200 players will participate in the U16 and U18 games on Sunday, and leading up to the Showcase games, the players took part in eight practices over the course of a two-week period.

Canadian and US colleges and universities will send coaches to the Showcase to scout the selected players. Last year's Blue and Gold Showcase featured 10 athletes committed to playing in various USports programs this year.

"The Winnipeg Football Club is proud to host the Blue & Gold Showcase for the top football players in our province," said Wade Miller, President and CEO of the Winnipeg Football Club. "Thank you to our Bomber players who have been out coaching as well as the high school football coaches that help develop these players’ skills.”
