The anthrax count is now 73 dead animals at farms in southern Manitoba. Friedensfeld Hall, south of Steinbach was host to about 50 cattle producers Thursday at an information session to discuss anthrax. The Manitoba Farm Animal Council hosted the event. Doctor Terry Whiting from Manitoba Agriculture and Doctor Kevin Millar from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency made presentations. Producers got information about the disease, how to spot its warning signs and what to do if cattle are infected. If you missed this meeting you'll have another chance in the near future. The Farm Animal Council is planning two more sessions in the southeast, those dates are still pending.
